Meet Kent

Kent Davis previously served as a prosecutor in the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office, working alongside dedicated career prosecutors committed to protecting the community. That experience gave him a firsthand understanding of both the strengths of the office and the challenges it now faces. After four terms under the current administration, the office faces serious concerns. Court rulings, independent audits, and dismissed cases have revealed systemic problems that have weakened public confidence and raised questions about accountability, transparency, and consistency in decision-making.

Kent is running because he cares deeply about protecting the most vulnerable in our community. He believes a new approach to criminal prosecution, prioritizing transparency and respect for the rights of both victims and the accused, is needed in Salt Lake County. As a former Salt Lake County prosecutor, he handled serious violent felony cases and built and supervised a cybercrime prosecution team. An Army combat veteran with two deployments to Iraq, Kent served as an infantry platoon leader and is a graduate of U.S. Army Ranger School. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge, awarded to soldiers who personally engaged the enemy under hostile fire. An Army veteran and attorney, he has spent his career in environments where discipline, integrity, and accountability are non-negotiable.
